At Work In My Studio |

Though the themes I incorporate in my art have changed erratically since I started as an artist, my technique has consistently progressed on one path. Starting with small preliminary drawings, usually conceived by a momentary imaginative outburst, I outline areas such as anatomical details, form composition, and if needed, the colour composition. The final piece once underway, though it follows the original sketches with a degree of devotion, alterations, subtractions and additions happen almost instinctively. Often new motives and aesthetic details I add create an entirely different piece in comparison to the original intention. Once finished, my aim is to create an illusion for the viewer. It is imperative therefore that my draughtsmanship, attention to detail and texture is very fine. Such an approach means each piece can often take weeks or even months to complete.
